track pt 3


the red and white curbs are on the tight corners of the track to stop the driver from cutting the corners too much. they are higher at the back then they are the front.

i started with a box and scaled 2 corners down in height and the other 2 up slightly.

i then selected the end poly and had the rotate tool selected. when extruding the poly the rotate tool rotates the target poly from it oragin and not its current possition so i was able to get a nice clean curve around the corner of the track.



i then copied the tire texture i had made in the material editior and changed the colours to white and red, when rendered they were slightly too lgossy so i reduced the specular level slightly and this was perfect.
i applied the textures by selectign the poly in face mode and applying the texture.
